Ripponlea Kindergarten operates 3-4 Year Old and 4-5 Year Old Sessional Kindergarten Programs of an exceptional standard.
We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the Kindergarten Program and Staff and please join us for a tour!
2024 Kindergarten Places:
We currently have very limited vacancies for 2024 in the 4-5 year old programs (including bush kinder). For a tour or more information please contact the kindergarten on 9527 4343 or email enrolment@ripponleakinder.org.au
On occasion, places for the 3-4 year old program do become available throughout the year. If you would like to place your child on the waiting list please fill out the waiting list form or contact the kindergarten on 9527 4343.
The 2024 Enrolment Process:
As we are located on the border of Port Phillip Council and Glen Eira council, we welcome enrolments from both municipalities, as well as enrolments from further afield. Everyone is welcome at Ripponlea Kindergarten!
We have returned to completing our enrolments through Ripponlea Kindergarten and have a new enrolment process as outlined below:
1. WAITING LISTS
At Ripponlea Kindergarten we are a small one-room service and we have a popular Bush Kinder program. To manage our enrolments, we have a 'waiting list' system for the following programs:
- 3 Year Old Sessional Kindergarten
- 4 Year Old Sessional Kindergarten
We accept waiting list forms, 2 years in advance (for example, in February 2024 we will open our Waiting List for 2026 – we are currently accepting waiting list forms for both 2024 & 2025)
Please be aware this is NOT an enrolment or guarantee of a place at Ripponlea! Completing and returning our Waiting List Form adds your child to our waiting lists by date order on the basis of the date we received your form.
2. THE ENROLMENT CYCLE
In May each year, we hold our annual Open Day and also survey families in the current 3 Year Old Sessional Program to determine if they will continue with the Sessional Program the following year. This allows us to determine the number of places we will have available to offer to our Waiting List families for the subsequent year.
First round offers are issued before the end of June and any places declined are offered to the next family on the waiting list.
3. PRIORITY OF ACCESS TO PROGRAMS
The Ripponlea Kindergarten Enrolment Policy is issued to families when offered a place at our Kindergarten.

State Government of Victoria priority of access guidelines here.
In instances where more eligible children apply for a place at our kindergarten than there are places available, we:
- prioritise children based on the government criteria listed above
- work with other local kindergarten services, the City of Glen Eira and the regional Department of Education office whenever required, to ensure all eligible children have access to a kindergarten place.
Once all Commonwealth and State Government priority of access guidelines are met, Ripponlea Kindergarten gives priority of access to siblings of children either currently attending Ripponlea, or who have attended Ripponlea in the past. Beyond these criteria, we allocate places in date order of entries on our waiting lists.
Enrolment for children attending in 2025 & 2026 is open now.
3 Year Old Kindergarten = Children must have turned 3 years old before they can commence kinder.
4 Year Old Kindergarten = Children must have turned 4 years old by 30th April in order to commence kinder.
