Reptile Encounters Incursion

Educator's Notes

Tia from Reptile Encounters came to visit, she brought with her a number of different creatures. The children got to see a saltwater crocodile, 2 pythons (an olive python and a spotted python), a frilled neck lizard, a northern long neck turtle, a shingle back lizard, a green tree frog and two Goliath stick insects. The children had the opportunity to get up close and touch all the different species. Tia shared interesting facts about each reptile and insect. She also taught us how to be safe around snakes and what to do if we come across one in the wild.
